Welcome to Uganda

, Uganda

For children growing up in Ntwetwe, Uganda, malnutrition, illness, and death from disease are everyday realities. They don't eat enough nutritious food to help them grow healthy and strong. Sponsor today, and you could help provide nutritious meals to keep them happy and healthy.

Your sponsorship could also help train teachers and improve schools in the area, so they're given the best start in life.

Your questions answered

  • As a sponsor, you help a child build the foundations of a future they can believe in. Our Child Sponsorship programme works to fuel change for a whole community. So that your sponsored child — and every child in the community — can have the childhood they deserve.

You'll help children and families access the essentials they need to build a better future, such as clean water, education, healthcare, nutritious food, protection, and job opportunities for parents to improve their income.

    Here’s why it works:

Shared benefits – For every child sponsored, four more benefit too. Clean water, better schools, healthcare and nutrition reach many families, not just one.

Local ownership – Projects are designed and led by local people. World Vision works with community leaders, parents and children to identify what’s needed most – and how to make it last.

Long-term change – Instead of short-term aid, communities receive training, tools and support to become self-sufficient. When a sponsorship programme ends, the progress continues.

Resilience and dignity – Children and families are empowered to take charge of their futures. Whether it’s farming techniques, small business training or child protection workshops, the focus is on building strength from within.

It’s so much more than a financial transaction. You can see the impact youʼre making through regular updates and know that youʼre part of something bigger. Something changing their world — and yours — for good.

  • With 75 years of experience, World Vision is a trusted global charity working in nearly 100 countries.

Here’s why thousands of people like you, as well as church leaders, local leaders, and partners like the World Food Program trust and choose World Vision:

    • Community-led change: We work with local leaders, families and children to understand their needs and create sustainable solutions.

    • Long-term impact: We work alongside communities for at least 10 years, ensuring lasting transformation.

    • Empowering children: We enable children to take part in clubs, creative activities and community events that build confidence and help them express themselves. They also have a voice in shaping the future of their community.

    • Transparency and trust: Your donations are pooled with others for maximum impact and monitored through audited accounts. Donations go directly to those in need through our own field offices — with no intermediaries involved.

    • Faith-inspired values – Motivated by our Christian faith, we serve all people regardless of faith, race or background, with compassion and integrity. Providing practical support and spiritual encouragement, helping every child realise their God-given potential.

Choosing World Vision UK means choosing a proven, personal and powerful way to make a difference.

As a World Vision child sponsor what can you expect?

As a sponsor, you are changing lives — your sponsored child’s and your own!

Firstly, you’ll receive a welcome pack with your sponsored child’s photo and story. Over time you can expect to see them grow as you see regular updates; you’re invited to communicate with them as often as suits you. Encourage them to dream big and build your friendship as you send letters and gifts.

With access to your own online account with photos and videos, we hope it’s a great encouragement to you to see the impact you’re making on their life, family and community.

Choosing World Vision UK means choosing hope
It’s a chance to be part of something bigger – and to know that your support is helping children not just survive, but flourish.

  • Child Sponsorship with World Vision UK starts from just £30 a month.

That’s less than £1 a day – a small amount that creates a big impact. Your monthly donation helps vulnerable children grow up healthy, educated and protected.

    Where does your money go?

Rather than going directly to one child, your donation is pooled with other sponsors to support long-term development projects in their community. This means:

    • Clean water systems are built and maintained.
    • Schools are equipped and teachers trained.
    • Clinics are stocked and health workers supported.
    • Families learn new skills to earn a stable income.

    Why this model works
By strengthening the whole community, children are more likely to thrive – and stay thriving – even after sponsorship ends.

It’s a smart, sustainable way to help
And because World Vision works with local governments and partners, your support is tailored to what each community truly needs.
